We all experience those moments when we want to escape from everyone, be surrounded by the silence of the mountains, exhale, slow down, and enjoy time with ourselves, loved ones, and nature. That's why we are excited to share a place created just for that — ULIS.Vorokhta.

Yes, this is the same beloved project from Kyiv region that has opened a new location in the Carpathians. You might ask: "What's it like there?" We could say: "Imagine super cozy Instagram-worthy cottages, where every detail is about comfort and care, add to that the atmosphere and beauty of the Ukrainian Carpathians, and you'll get it." But no, we'll say: "Pack your bags and head to ULIS. Because it has to be felt." Now, let us tell you a bit more about this place so that you'll have no doubts left.

ULIS.Vorokhta is located at the Kryvopilskyi Pass, offering views of Hoverla and other peaks of Chornohora and Gorgany. The complex currently consists of 12 cottages, built in a way that guests don't disturb each other, as ULIS is all about seclusion and silence. Each cottage has one or two bedrooms, a living room with a fireplace, a kitchen, a BBQ area, and a terrace with panoramic views of fir forests and Mount Kostrych.

On-site, there is also a kitchen where you can get marinated products for grilling or order ready-made dishes to avoid cooking. The menu is varied and, of course, features Hutsul specialties. After all, can you fully experience the Carpathian vibe without tasting delicious dishes with forest mushrooms and fir cone jam?

This new location upholds the same principles of the company, supporting the local community, preserving their traditions, and sharing them with guests. Additionally, as with other locations, there is a permanent discount for military personnel and veterans: -30%.

Now the main thing – what to do at ULIS?

  • Meditate. Not only is the location perfect for this, but each cottage also has a QR code linking to a channel with custom-designed meditations for ULIS. Morning, evening, or just for calming down and grounding — choose and relax.
  • Drink tea on the terrace and listen to the mountains. But beware, the views are so stunning, and the herbal tea from ULIS so delicious, that these sessions may last longer than expected.
  • Read a book by the fireplace. Each cottage has a mini-library with books and board games, ensuring a cozy evening, no matter the weather.
  • Study the starry sky. How many constellations can you find? After a stay at ULIS, that number will surely increase, as the cottage terraces have a QR code leading to an app for studying the stars. Scan it and feel like a bit of an astronomer.
  • Enjoy time with your pets. Yes, ULIS is super pet-friendly. There are special treats, towels, a spacious area, and QR codes with ideas for fun activities with animals in the cottages.
  • Grill with a mountain view. At the very least, roast marshmallows. ULIS has already prepared them and left them in your room.

The atmosphere at ULIS is such that you might not want to leave at all. But the mountains beckon, especially when you peek out the window. It's impossible to resist the smell of the pine forest, the anticipation of joy from a walk along a mountain path, and the pride of conquering another peak. Moreover, several hiking routes of varying duration and difficulty start right from the complex, from a leisurely stroll along the pass to a half-day hike to Mount Kostrych.

Additionally, the new ULIS is located in the heart of Hutsulshchyna, an area rich in history, with many interesting finds and secret places. Exploring this region is incredibly exciting, so ULIS has prepared an interactive map for guests, marking all the must-see spots: from the resort town of Vorokhta to Verkhovyna — the museum city, which Ivan Franko called the "capital of the Hutsuls." So here’s a checklist of top locations.

  • Instagrammable beech tree on the summit just a few minutes' walk from the complex. It's perfect for watching sunsets, picnics, and, as you've probably guessed, photoshoots.
  • "Polonyna Bukov’yen" cheese dairy. Here you can see how authentic Hutsul bryndza, vurdya, budz, and local versions of Parmesan and Suluguni are made. And, of course, you can taste it all.
  • Cheese dairy on Polonyna Borsuchyna. Another must for cheese lovers. However, you'll have to climb over 1,100 meters to get there, but it's worth it. Tasting cheese made using traditional Hutsul methods with a view of the mountain ridges is simply a "wow" experience!
  • Verkhovyna. One of Ukraine's highest villages with a history of over five centuries. It was a center of rebellion movements, Hutsul uprisings, and in the 20th century, it became one of the favorite resorts of Ukrainian and Polish intelligentsia. One of its hamlets even became known as "Hutsul Hollywood" because, starting in the late 1950s, many films were shot there, including the cult classic "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" (1964) by Sergei Parajanov. Now, the house where the film crew stayed is the Museum of the "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" movie.

This is just one of the dozens of cool museums in Verkhovyna, and there are enough activities and interesting locations in the village to keep you entertained for several days. So, we recommend visiting the local portal «Yo, Verkhovyna» to plan your ideal route before your trip.

  • Vorokhta. You've probably heard about the local century-old viaducts, but Vorokhta is famous for much more than that. Churches over 200 years old, ski lifts and jumps where athletes ski even in summer, an ethnographic museum where you can transform into a hero of Hutsul mythology for a few moments, a colorful market perfect for souvenir and Carpathian treat shopping, and the new atmospheric bookstore "Alternatyva," where you can wait for your train with a delicious cup of coffee overlooking Vorokhta. This list could go on and on.

Now you know that next to all this, ULIS has opened — the perfect place to discover more about yourself and the Ukrainian Carpathians.
